Now let’s make our way back east of the Mississippi River and travel just south of Memphis to Southaven, MS. There we find Southaven RV Park.

Be aware – they are almost always booked to the max! You have to keep checking with them to see if they have a site available.

If you can get in, you’ll find that they offer comfort and convenience right at the Tennessee/Mississippi state line. 

You will be just a 10-minute drive from Graceland in Memphis and a short walk away from dining and shopping venues in Southaven.

Also, you’ll be a close drive away from Goodman Road, Southaven’s mecca of retail and restaurant outlets!

Common Questions About RV Parks And Camping In Memphis

Tennessee, Arkansas, and Mississippi are all RV-friendly states. You can see RV owners traveling in these Mid-South states year-round.

You can find dump stations at some rest areas and overnight parking in some spots. There are restrictions to be aware of, however.

Can You Park Your RV Anywhere In Memphis?

What’s The Average Daily Cost For RV Parks In Memphis?

The prices listed above are the low end prices each campground advertises. 

Tom Sawyer RV Park had the lowest daily rate for a full hook-up site at $28 ($25 with discount). The highest reported was EZ Daze at $57-$75 (although you would need to call for current rates). 

On average, it seems that you can expect to pay about $43 daily when you take an RV trip to Memphis and surrounding areas.

Of course, exact pricing depends on the campground you choose, their amenities, and the size of your rig.

Are There RV Size Restrictions For Memphis Area Highways?

A trip to Memphis may include spending time in Arkansas or Mississippi in addition to Tennessee. So let’s look at the laws for all 3 states:

In Tennessee, the combined length of the RV itself and any towing or towed vehicle must not exceed 65 feet. The combined weight can’t exceed 85,000 pounds.

If you’ll be staying at one of the Arkansas parks listed above, the maximum length of combined vehicles is also 65 feet.

A single motorhome must not be more than 45 feet and a single towed trailer must not exceed 43 ½ feet.

And in Mississippi, maximum motorhome length is 45 feet and maximum trailer length is 40 feet.

Are Pets Allowed At Memphis Area RV Parks?

Yes! All the parks listed above allow pets on the premises. Some parks charge an additional fee for your four-legged friend.

Also, a few enforce breed restrictions against what some may view as aggressive breeds.

    1. I’ve always said when I retire that I want my own RV to travel the country and rescue Animals.
