As an RV owner, it isn’t always possible to drive your trailer to a repair shop safely.
In my experience, I’ve found it safer and easier to find someone who offers mobile RV repair near me instead of taking the risk of driving an RV that might not be mechanically sound.
Finding someone that can come to you to diagnose and repair issues with your RV can make life easier in many ways. Especially if you’re traveling in a remote area, a mobile mechanic might be the only way to have repairs done and keep your trip itinerary on track.
In addition, not all repair and maintenance shops in your area will have the capability to work on larger RVs, travel trailers, or 5th wheels.
Some of them may not have large enough bays to accommodate your RV or they may be impossible to navigate your RV into their lot.
Depending on where you find yourself in need of RV repair services, you might need to use several strategies to find a mobile repair service.
In addition, certain mobile mechanics offer different maintenance types than others.
In order to help you get the most from a mobile mechanic service, we’re going to help you determine where to find mobile RV repair near you.
And we’ll also provide some suggestions that will help you check with a specific mechanic to make sure he or she offers the right service type for you.
How Do Mobile RV Repair Services Work?
A company that offers a mobile RV repair service will travel to your location to diagnose mechanical issues with your RV. Theses companies appear when your search for buying testosterone cypionate online “rv repair shops near me”.
They will arrive with all the tools they need to perform repairs for most issues as well, which helps you reduce the risk of driving further to get to traditional maintenance and repair shop if you’re not quite sure what’s wrong with your RV.
Some mobile mechanics will be willing to travel almost anywhere to perform repairs or assist you with general RV maintenance.
That makes it convenient to have repairs done in your driveway, at a campground or RV park, or even on the side of the road.
How Do I Find Mobile RV Repair Near Me?
Nowadays, our tendency is often to go to the Internet to find any type of RV-related service or product that we might need.
And, to be quite honest, a Google search for ‘mobile RV repair near me’ will turn up at least one or two results more often than not.
You can also search on Yahoo, bing for rv repair near me to gather more results.
But, in some locations, not all mobile mechanical services will advertise online, so you may have to get a little more creative to find them.
So here are all of the ways to find mobile RV repair services near you:
- Internet search
- Ask a campground manager
- Call a regional RV dealership or RV parts store
- Get advice or recommendations from other RV campers
While those are the general strategies for finding mobile RV repair in your area, there are some nuances to each, so let’s address them before we move on!

Searching The Web
The Internet is an amazing resource for finding mobile RV repair services.
In addition to searching for ‘mobile RV repair near me’, however, there are several other terms that these types of services may be listed under.
If your first search doesn’t turn up anything, you may also consider these secondary search terms:
- ‘Mobile mechanic near me’
- ‘RV mobile mechanic service near me’
- ‘RV handyman near me’
- ‘Mobile RV repair service near me’
- ‘caravan repairs near me’
- ‘rv mechanic near me’
- ‘motorhome repairs near me’
- ‘rv body repair near me’
Using these terms can help you expand your search and find more mechanics in your area.
In addition, you may also be able to search for these mechanics on other platforms besides just Google.
Searching platforms like Yelp or Bing can also help you find these services while also getting a chance to read user reviews on the quality of service offered by these mechanics.
Asking Campgrounds
Campgrounds managers, and even other campground staff, often deal with helping RVers and other campers find essential services on a regular basis.
They also live and work in the area in which you’re probably trying to find a mobile mechanic.
And these folks often have real-life experience with the quality of work that certain mechanics offer.
So, asking a campground manager or staff member will often help you identify mobile mechanic services in your area and also decide which one generally offers the best service quality.

Contacting An RV Dealership Or Parts Store
Every mechanic that offers mobile services has to get his or her parts from somewhere. Often, they source their parts from a local RV dealership or parts store.
This generates an ongoing relationship between the mechanic and the dealership or parts store.
Because mechanics help dealerships and parts stores remain in business, these stores are often more than willing to provide you with recommendations for a mobile repair service in your area.
Chatting With Other RVers
Every RV owner deals with repairs or general maintenance at some point or another.
But when you’re looking for a mobile mechanic online, it can be hard to tell which services will be easy and worthwhile to work with.
Some of your fellow RVers, however, may have past experience with a mobile repair service for RVs in your area.
If you’re in need of mechanical assistance, asking other RVers or fellow campground visitors can be a great way to get a recommendation for a mechanic that will actually deliver on his or her promises.

Types Of Mobile RV Repair Services
An important thing to know about these kinds of mechanics is that not all of them will offer 100% of the services that you’d find at a traditional maintenance and repair shop.
So before you have them come out to your RV, you’ll need to make sure they offer the type of service you’re looking for.
These are the main mobile RV repair service types that you’ll find amongst these mechanics:
General Mobile RV Repair Technicians
This is your jack-of-all-trades type of RV mobile mechanic. He or she is well-versed in almost any type of repair or general maintenance that you can think of.
General technicians also tend to work exclusively out of their mobile vehicles, so they are experienced with performing repairs on RVs that are parked in almost any imaginable location.
In most cases, this is the type of mechanic you should look for if you need mobile RV repair services.
Mobile RV Repair Specialists
As their name suggests, mobile mechanics that market themselves as specialists will generally focus (or specialize) in one or two types of RV repair.
Because these mechanics put all of their focus on a smaller number of repair services, they generally offer a higher quality service than you’d receive from a general technician.
That being said, they will also charge a premium fee for their services.
But if you find yourself with an issue that a general technician can’t fix, you’ll probably need to call a specialist.
House Calls From RV Dealers Or Local Repair Shops
In some cases, traditional mechanic shops or the repairs department at your RV dealership may reserve a small number of staff for house calls.
These are usually done upon request and are typically offered for emergency services only.
While they can help you get your RV back on the road and/or avoid other major mechanical failures, these services are generally the most expensive of these three types.

Benefits Of A Mobile RV Repair Service
In some cases, hiring a mobile mechanic can be preferred over taking your RV to a traditional shop.
Before you start your RV and use the time, energy, and gas to drive to a brick-and-mortar mechanic shop, consider these benefits of mobile RV repair:
Convenience
The major benefit of hiring a mobile RV handyman is the fact that they’ll come to you.
This makes their services super convenient and also leads to a number of additional benefits that we’ll also mention here!
Reduced Risk
Because you don’t have to move your RV for a mobile repairman to look at it, you’ll be able to reduce the risk of causing further damage to your RV or its components.
This allows you to catch small indicator signs before they become larger mechanical issues.
Savings (Of Time And Money!)
The convenience of having an RV handyman come directly to your location can also help you save both time and money.
For starters, you won’t have to spend the time and burn the gas that it will take to drive your RV to a maintenance shop.
Secondly, you won’t take the added risk of driving your RV if it has issues that you’re unfamiliar with.
In the long run, this can help you save money by avoiding having to pay for more extensive repairs because you didn’t catch the initial warning signs.
Quality Of Service
I don’t know if you’ve ever peeked into the service area of your local mechanic shop, but they can often become chaotic areas with loud noise playing and many different vehicles shuffling in and out.
Because of those kinds of distractions, it’s more likely that your service technician skips a step or fails to recognize something that’s indicating a larger issue that should be addressed.
Because mobile RV handymen will come to your location, they’ll be more likely to focus 100% of their attention on your RV while they are there.
This helps to reduce those distractions and, in many cases, it can actually improve the quality of service you receive.

Negatives Of Mobile RV Repair Benefits
Unfortunately, mobile RV mechanics aren’t well -suited to handle all mechanical repairs or maintenance services.
So, before you perform that Google search for ‘mobile RV repair near me’, please consider some of the drawbacks of hiring a mobile mechanic service.
Price
Unlike a traditional mechanic shop, mobile mechanics need to charge enough to cover the costs of the fuel that they use to drive back-and-forth as their clients require.
Because of this, you’ll often find that mobile RV mechanical services can cost more than taking your RV directly to the shop.
Some technicians charge a flat rate to come to your location, regardless of distance. Others will charge on a per-mile basis for the travel.
Either way, this is an additional fee that gets added on top of the costs of parts and labor when you’re paying for mobile mechanic service.
Repair Location
In some cases, RV parks or campgrounds may not allow repair services to be performed on-site.
This is mainly handled on a case-by-case basis, but many campgrounds simply don’t want their properties turning into a temporary maintenance area every time an RV breaks down or limps in.
You’ll need to consider whether or not your location is conducive to having a mechanic come there to perform repairs.
Otherwise, you’ll have to move your RV anyway and, once you do that, you might be better off just taking it straight to a mechanic shop yourself.
Availability
Depending on your location, there may not be a mobile repair service for RVs readily available.
Even if you perform multiple searches for different terms (as we mentioned above) and use different platforms, the reality is that mobile RV repairmen simply don’t offer services everywhere.
Conclusion
If you find yourself in a remote location, a mobile RV mechanic service might be your only option to get your RV up and running again.
And, to be honest, many RVers prefer this type of mechanic because they don’t have to spend the time or money to move their rig to a traditional maintenance shop.
Whether you need a mobile repair service for general maintenance or to repair a critical issue to keep your road trip dreams alive, it’s important to know that they’re out there and be aware of how to find a quality RV repair service that can come to you.
We hope that you’ve learned both of those things (and maybe a few others) here today and, as always, we wish you only the best and repair-free RV adventures in the future!

4 years agoContacted two different mobile RV repairmen few months ago. Both indicated that they could perform the repairs and we’re interested in the work. Then, neither individual would show up to perform the work and would no longer take calls or respond to texts. So don’t get your hopes up if you need mobile RV repair in Mobile,AL.

2 years agoFrom what I hear, that is not uncommon with mobile RV services. When I started my own mobile RV service full-time and quit working for dealerships, it was in large part due to the responses I received in my Facebook community groups where I had asked if there was a market for such a service locally. I received over 70 responses, many of which complained that mobile RV services either didn’t answer their phones, return calls, or show up. I’ve also found that I have had to fix work that had been done by others who were unwilling to return to a botched job and make it right. This isn’t just an Alabama thing.

2 years agoBe sure you coach battery is fully charged, if it is only down slightly, they will not open. If your RV had been sitting for a while the battery could be low. Also check the water level in your battery.
